About The Chameleon Sanctuary

Mission

Van Helsing Our mission is to educate people, provide the best care we can for our chameleon charges, and to support chameleon owners when they can no longer provide what their chameleon friends need to thrive (or even survive…) by taking them in and rehabilitating them for placement in competent and caring new homes.

We strive to provide the unique optimum husbandry requirements for each species in our care, we will research their individual needs in depth and create what they need. Medical care is never denied, they receive it when indicated and without delay (an advantage to having a reptile veterinarian run this rescue!) Supportive care, parasite control, surgery, evaluations and follow ups are all available for our animals at all times.
Staff

Our founder is Dr. Lynne Lankes, a reptile and other domestic exotic veterinarian in the San Francisco Bay area. Dr. Lynne has many chameleons as patients in her Hospital (Central Marin Cat & Exotic Hospital), as well as her own pets (Panthers, Veileds and Oustellets.) She has enlisted the assistance of her veterinary staff and additional chameleon-savvy volunteers to help her provide feasible options for people having to re-home their beloved chameleons for whatever reason.
